OUR MISSION ........ IS TO HELP AS MANY KIDS AS POSSIBLE BY BUILDING SELF-ESTEEM (belief in ones self), CHARACTER (morals, ethics and values) and AND SOCIAL SKILLS (how to function in society) the way that we do that is BY FOCUSING ON THE "ABC's":  (ACADEMICS, BASKETBALL, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE).

ACADEMICS - Ruff Rider Coaches check report cards, monitor grades to ensure that each player maintains a GPA of 2.5 or above each marking period, set up tutoring when needed, and administer SAT assignments.  We assume that each and every player has aspirations to attend college and our goal is to assist them in preparing for this challenge.

BASKETBALL - Ruff Rider coaches teach players the fundamentals of basketball first, and then elevate to teaching players offensive plays, defensive sets, and basketball savvy.  Ruff Rider teams play in local, regional, and national tournaments, Including both the AAU national tournament ad the YBOA national tournament.  Our goal is to provide players ample opportunity to showcase their basketball skills on a national platform in front of scouts at all levels of basketball (high school, college, NBA, etc.)

COMMUNITY SERVICES - Community Service is mandatory for all players & cheerleaders.  The Maryland Ruff Riders, Inc. schedule various community service projects throughout the year, including volunteering time at a food bank for the needy, cleaning neighborhoods, feeding the homeless, and assisting the elderly.  This also provides an opportunity for school age children to obtain their required community services hours by volunteering with the Maryland Ruff Riders.

RUFF RIDERS WILL EXCEL IN SCHOOL, ON THE BASKETBALL COURT, AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!

"BALLERS BALL EVERY CHANCE THEY GET DAY OR NIGHT EVEN IN THEIR SLEEP."
"ASK YOURSELF; ARE YOU A TRUE BALLER OR JUST A PRETENDER?"
